Africa-Press – Angola. The Deputy Director General of the National Space Office, Vânia Pereira, defended, this Tuesday, the need to implement digital inclusion strategies that go through the education system not only formally, but also informally to achieve “literacy digital”.

When speaking at the opening of the conference on “Tech Insight By ADF, explores the potential of industry 4.0 technologies in the country’s development”, he said that the large percentage of young people and the natural propensity of new generations to use digital technologies make Angola a country where digital conversion for the 4th revolution is relatively easy.

According to Vânia Pereira, Artificial Intelligence has been a support tool in agriculture, allowing valuable “insights” for farmers, in the search for more effective management of plantations, optimization of the use of resources and accurate harvest forecasts.

In the oil and gas sector, it recognized that satellite images are used to identify oil spills, allowing immediate actions to mitigate and protect the environment and precious natural resources.

In turn, the president of the Management Board of Intelectos Formações, Neusa Semedo, who participated in the round table on “Artificial Intelligence and the Future of Business”, said that, despite the steps the country has taken in the technology sector, it is I need to solve the basic problems we face, ranging from communication networks, lack of digital literacy and electricity.

“Communication networks must be created, especially in hospitals so that there is a base on which to integrate patient data with their respective pathologies, to improve services”, he said.

The general director of the technology company ETIC, Felipe Retke, considered artificial intelligence to be an irreversible path, but care must be taken to avoid falling into traps because its risk leads to alarming losses.

He explained that artificial intelligence has its “pros and cons” and that in a globalized world it can be well used to uncover diagnoses and locations in distant places.

The Tech Insight by ADF conference brought together experts and academics to analyze the impact of new information technologies on the development of productive and business sectors in Angola.

Tech Insight by ADF is an innovative and inspiring event, organized by Portal de TI in partnership with Mwango Brain, which proposes exploring Industry 4.0 technologies .
