Africa-Press – Angola. The director for Angola and Namibia at Energy Capital and Power, Miguel Artacho, acknowledged that the Angolan Government is doing “a good job” to boost the energy transition and, consequently, create job opportunities for young nationals.
In a press conference about the 4th edition of Angola Oil & Gás (AOG/2023), which takes place on the 13th and 14th of this month, in Luanda, the person responsible believes that the programs of Sonangol and the National Agency of Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels (ANPG) will diversify and allow more investment in renewable energy, as well as research into hydrogen technologies.
With this, he continued, the long-term transition included in the Angolan Government’s program could bring many gains to the national economy.
According to the director, the issue of energy transition, which involves oil companies for greater diversification and investment, must be done gradually, taking into account the factors involved, such as oil.
“I think that when people talk about the energy transition they think that it is completely separate from oil and gas production, but that is not the case, the fact is that it has to do with many energies, such as hydrocarbons and the deadline is very important”, he clarified.
The Angola Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition (AOG) will take place on the 13th and 14th of September at the Talatona Convention Center and will bring together speakers from 40 countries.
Under the motto “Oil and gas security, decarbonization and sustainable development”, the 4th edition of Angola Oil & Gás expects to bring together speakers from 40 countries, who will address the most current issues in the oil and gas market in Angola.
