Africa-Press – Angola. The first secretary of the MPLA in the province of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, reaffirmed Thursday, the party’s commitment and engagement in the construction of socioeconomic infrastructures, to better serve the population and reduce regional asymmetries.
The party leader was speaking during the consultation meeting with the Secretariats of the Executive Committees of the 11 Municipal Committees of the MPLA, held at the headquarters of the municipality of Ucuma, 97 kilometers west of the city of Huambo.
On the occasion, Lotti Nolika said that the MPLA, as the party that supports the Angolan Government, will continue to influence the implementation of projects related to the construction of more schools, hospitals, improvement of access roads, provision of fertilizers and agricultural instruments, expansion of the electricity network and drinking water, as well as strengthening public safety.
He added that the party will continue to advocate the materialization of the population’s interests before those in power and, at the same time, work to improve the living conditions of communities, focusing on the incessant pursuit of socioeconomic development and the well-being of the population.
Therefore, the governor of the province of Huambo reaffirmed her commitment to continue working, increasingly, with the population, with a view to creating satisfactory conditions, through the defense of the interests of ordinary citizens.
Lotti Nolica emphasized that the MPLA’s responsibility will always be to improve the population’s living conditions in an environment of tranquility, protect families and resolve the socioeconomic needs of communities, both urban and rural, in order to reduce regional asymmetries.
He praised the performance of MPLA cadres, members and activists in preserving peace and strengthening the party’s internal cohesion.
Participants analyzed aspects linked to the political, economic and social situation of the 11 municipalities in this region of the Central Highlands, namely Bailundo, Caála, Cachiungo, Chicala-Cholohanga, Chinjenje, Ecunha, Huambo, Londuimbali, Longonjo, Mungo and Ucuma.
In the province of Huambo, the MPLA was the party with the most votes in the general elections on August 24, 2022, with 308,731 votes, electing three deputies, out of the five possible.
