MPLA defends continued commitment to transmitting Agostinho Neto's legacy

Africa-Press – Angola. The second provincial secretary of the MPLA in Uíge, Pedro Augusto Conga, defended Friday, the importance of continuing to invest in publicizing the achievements of Agostinho Neto, in order to transmit a positive legacy to new generations.

Speaking at the end of the lecture on “The legacy of Agostinho Neto, held at the Tange Secondary School, on the outskirts of the city of Uíge, Pedro Augusto Conga said that the initiative aims to inform students about the life and work of the first President of Angola.

The politician reaffirmed that Agostinho Neto defended the formation of the new man, for the triumph and development of the country, therefore, he considered it a good example for young people to follow.

When discussing the topic, speaker Abraão Monteiro said it was a difficult task to address the cultural, political and patriotic dimensions of Agostinho Neto, contributions that marked the colonial and post-independence era.

In order for Agostinho Neto’s legacy to be publicized, he urged participants to invest more and more in carrying out cultural activities, with a focus on transmitting the great references of Angolan nationalism.

The lecture was attended by teachers, students and other guests.
