OMA in Zaire revitalizes basic structures

Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of the OMA in Zaire, Isabel Deviya Luvenga, recommended, on Friday, in Soyo, the reinforcement of political and ideological training actions for activists at the level of grassroots structures, in view of the upcoming challenges.

Speaking during the opening of the review and renewal of mandates assembly, held in the Sumba commune, the leader highlighted the importance of constant training of OMA staff and activists at all levels, with emphasis on grassroots structures.

According to the person responsible, holding methodological seminars and analyzing documents that govern the functioning of this MPLA women’s organization help activists in understanding, interpreting and discussing some current national and global issues.

He reported that to date, more than 60 assemblies of assessment and renewal of mandates have been held in the municipalities of Mbanza Kongo, Soyo, Nzeto and Tomboco, which, for the most part, were committed to continuity.

“For example, here in the commune of Sumba and in other locations in the province where we already work, we have verified that the process of revitalizing basic structures is progressing satisfactorily, with the entry of more young people”, he highlighted.

Isabel Deviya Luvenga, said that the cycle of balance assemblies and renewal of mandates in the region’s communes ends next week, in the municipalities of Nóqui and Cuimba.

In addition to electing or not new communal directors, the review and mandate renewal assemblies are also reviewing the balance of activities carried out in the previous mandate and the approval of the action plan for the period 2023/2026.
