Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to Senegal, Adão Pinto, discussed aspects of African and international diplomacy this Monday in Dakar.

In the discussion with his counterpart from Guinea-Bissau, Armando Arafa, they also gave importance to the historical relations of friendship and solidarity existing between the two States.

The courtesy meeting also served for diplomats to reaffirm their mutual support on related topics

The Guinean ambassador congratulated Angola on marking September 17th, the date dedicated to National Hero Day, in memory of its first President António Agostinho Neto.

The diplomat emphasized the historical importance of the role of Agostinho Neto and Amílcar Cabral, indelible pan-Africanists to the memory of the liberation of the peoples of the African continent.

“Angola and Guinea-Bissau are two brotherly countries. It is with great pride that we historically praise the great role of Agostinho Neto and Amílcar Cabral, both intrepid and distinguished sons of Africa in the struggle for independence,” he said.

Angola and the Republic of Guinea-Bissau share historical ties that unite the two countries in the anti-colonial struggle and for the emancipation of their respective peoples, based on friendship, fraternity and solidarity.
