Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial secretary of the MPLA in Luanda, Manuel Homem, asked, this Saturday, the party’s militant mass in Viana to unconditionally support the governance of the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
Presiding over a mass political event, in support of João Lourenço, held in the municipality of Viana, the governor of Luanda appealed to the union of activists so that the PR fulfills its mandate, in a peaceful manner.
According to him, this is a very tough fight and will require commitment from the militants, but also full availability.
Manuel Homem stressed that, in the current situation, the party must strengthen its structures, through the inclusion of its militants, supporters and friends in its base structures.
“The MPLA is only strong because it has always been capable of transforming itself from generation to generation, which is why it is necessary for members to be affiliated to learn about the party’s statutes and program”, he stressed.
The provincial secretary of the MPLA recommended, on the other hand, that the leaders of the base structures be people present and willing to work for the benefit of the collective.
Manuel Homem committed to asking the President of the Republic, as in other provinces, to make a working visit to Luanda to find out what was and has been done in the country’s capital.
The event was attended by the municipal administrator of Viana, Demétrio de Sepúlveda, and different MPLA individuals residing in Viana.
