Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan President, João Lourenço, received in audience Wednesday, the president of the National Popular Assembly of Guinea-Bissau, Domingos Simões Pereira, with whom he discussed topics of mutual interest.
Accompanied by part of the delegation participating in the IPU assembly, the parliamentarian told the press that it was a courtesy visit to greet, thank the Angolan people for the invitation and good hospitality, as well as express and reiterate the feeling of fraternity towards Angola and with the Angolans.
Regarding relations between the two countries, he said they are historic, which vary according to the various circumstances.
“I think that the two peoples remain brothers and are always available to renew these ties and deepen the relationship and take the possible advantages of this feeling of belonging to something that is common to our values”, he stressed.
Angola and Guinea-Bissau are members of the Portuguese Speaking Countries (PALOP) and the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP). They maintain historical and diplomatic ties of cooperation.
