Africa-Press – Angola. The National Demining Center (CND) completed in Menongue, in Cuando Cubango, the certification and removal of explosive devices in the Mbuacata land reserve, which will allow construction work to begin on three thousand homes in the local centrality .

This is an area of 450 thousand square meters, in a total of 39 hectares of land in the land reserve, located seven kilometers west of the city of Menongue, where housing and other services will be built, as part of the Executive’s program to increase the supply of homes to the citizens of this region.

Speaking this Thursday, the head of the National Demining Center (CND) of Cuando Cubango, Rodrigues Jorge Nana, assured that only six unexploded explosive devices were removed from the site.

He justified that, taking into account the size of the area, there was a need to carry out due mechanical demining with sappers, to check for any device that could escape during the process.

The person responsible clarified that, only after delivery of the demining certificate, the company Kora – Angola can mobilize resources to set up its shipyards and, subsequently, the start of the project.

In Menongue, construction is also underway on the first phase of the Tucuve centrality (Menongue), which includes 14 four-storey buildings, with 212 apartments and other equipment, such as shops and others, under the responsibility of the company GRINER.
