Africa-Press – Angola. The Tchicamby Salinas, a salt production unit that began to be implemented in 2022, in Baía Farta, Benguela, based on financing from the Development Bank of Angola (BDA), is inaugurated by the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources, Carmen do Sacramento Neto.
The information was provided yesterday to Jornal de Angola, in Benguela, by Sebastião Custódio, managing partner of Salinas Tchicamby, a unit designed to produce 4.5 thousand tons of salt per month or a little more than 50 thousand tons per year , starting next January.
The unit is located in an area of 300 hectares, with the operation representing 320 direct jobs and 135 indirect jobs, according to the managing partner.
With the full disbursement of financing and expansion of the exploration area, in the next two or three years, Salinas Tchicamby can reach one of the leading positions in supplying the national market.
