National Police in Malanje reinforces patrols on the border with DRC

Africa-Press – Angola. The provincial commander of the National Police of Malanje, Commissioner João Cariqui, assured that the patrolling of forces on the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) is reinforced, aiming to maintain order and security, at a time when the neighboring country awaits for the publication of electoral results.

According to the official, the border between the two countries is safe and controlled, adding that any anomalous situation will be promptly repressed by the troops deployed on the ground.

He stressed that the post-election period is prone to disrespect on the part of some discontented people, encouraging attempts to violate the border to seek refuge in Malanje.

He stressed that the government is closely monitoring the elections in that country and the troops are ready to make the common border inviolable.

The province of Malanje shares a 140-kilometer river border with the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), through the regions of Tembo Aluma (municipality of Marimba) and Muheto (Massango).
