Judge suspended by CSMJ

Africa-Press – Angola. The judge and judicial inspector, João António Francisco, was suspended from his duties, for “inappropriate conduct”, the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSMJ) announced this Saturday.

The magistrate is accused of having rented the office apartment to a foreign citizen, contrary to the purposes for which it had been allocated.

Renting the property, assigned as a function house, to a third party constitutes a violation of the Public Heritage Law.

According to a press release, the CSMJ decided to initiate disciplinary proceedings and consequent preventive suspension against the judge.

It states that the suspension derives from the inappropriate conduct of the magistrate, as well as the result of the investigation ordered by this Council.

Remember that the disciplinary process, independent of the applicable criminal proceedings, follows its

legal procedures and must be made public as soon as it is concluded.
