Africa-Press – Angola. The works of the future Institute of Legal Medicine, the first institution of its kind in the country, received, this Tuesday, a visit from the President of the Republic, João Lourenço.
Accompanied by the Secretary of State for Health, Leonardo Edurado, the governor of Luanda, Manuel Homem, among other entities, the statesman toured the different areas of the project whose implementation is around 14 percent.
The unit will have a capacity of 200 drawers and, in addition to conserving bodies, pathological and criminal anatomy autopsies will be carried out there.
According to the information, the contractor plans to complete the works on the Institute of Legal Medicine at the end of 2024.
Previously, President João Lourenço, who was undertaking a field trip, visited the Hospital Geral dos Cajueiros, in the municipality of Cazenga, where he also observed the expansion and modernization works.
