Africa-Press – Angola. International master (IM) Erikson Soares achieved this Monday, in Luanda, two victories in the double round of the “Sonangol 48 years” rapid chess tournament, which takes place at the federation’s headquarters.
The unified competition, which is played in the Swiss system, over seven rounds, at a pace of 10 minutes and three more seconds for each player to finish the match, falls within the calendar of the Angolan Federation of the sport (FAX).
In this double round, MI Erikson Soares beat Specialist (E) Alexandre Próspero and Jaime Sonhy, respectively, thus taking the lead in the tournament with two points.
Also MI, David Silva, in the first round defeated Mestre Fide (MF), Domingos Júnior, and in the second he defeated MF Eduardo Pascoal again, occupying second place, with equal two points.
20 of the best chess players in the country are taking part in the competition, which will be played until Wednesday.
