Africa-Press – Angola. The winners of the first stage of the National Beach Volleyball Circuit, Dário Santos and Saionara Magalhães, highlighted difficulties in winning the tournament, which ended on Sunday, at the BAI Arena, in Luanda.
The race, which started on Friday (23) on the Island of Luanda, marking the opening of the 2024 season, ended with the consecration of the men’s pair Dário Santos/Edson Figueiredo and the women’s pair Sara Lemos/Saionara Magalhães.
Dário Santos admitted that it was a very difficult final.
The volleyball player valued the fact that he partnered with Figueiredo, who he considers to be one of the best athletes in Africa.
For the second stage, Santos promises work to improve physical and technical aspects.
Saionara Magalhães, champion for the National Team, stated that the hot weather made the race more difficult.
The athlete is pleased with the evolution of the new generation of players, adding, however, that her duo’s triumph was due to greater experience.
He said that the next objective is the revalidation of the African title.
The second stage of the National Beach Volleyball Circuit will take place from the 21st to the 23rd of March, in the city of Sumbe, province of Cuanza Sul.
