Africa-Press – Angola. The former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Angola, João Miranda, launched this Friday, in Luanda, a new book entitled “A Combatant’s Journey: Main Deeds and Testimonies”.
The presentation and autograph session of the work took place at the Dr. António Agostinho Neto Memorial and brought together, among other personalities, members of the Government, the diplomatic corps, general officers of the Angolan Armed Forces, veterans of the country, men of culture and journalists.
The book narrates the personal and professional journey of ambassador João Miranda, highlighting the main achievements that marked his political-diplomatic career, especially his active participation in the history of Angola’s independence.
The work also offers testimonies of decisive moments in the author’s public life, with a particular focus on his survival during the war of independence and his role in national politics.
Among his previous publications are the books Nambuangongo: Narrativas” (1998), “Pethelo-a-kuma – O Menino Inteligente” (2012), “Hebe” (2012) and “Nova Evangelização, Necessita-se?” (2021).
A law graduate, career ambassador, journalist and writer, João Miranda is a founding member of the Union of Angolan Journalists (UJA) and the former Association of Angolan Jurists (AJA), as well as a member of the Union of Angolan Writers (UEA).
Among other roles performed during his political career, João Miranda was also vice-minister of Social Communication and Foreign Relations, as well as ambassador of Angola to France.
