Africa-Press – Angola. President João Lourenço has issued a directive for the resumption of the Saurimo National Stadium facelift during a working day in Lunda Sul province, which concluded on Tuesday.
According to the local governor, Daniel Felix, the resumption of the stadium’s rehabilitation is expected to encourage the growth of sports, particularly football, in the province.
The stadium, located approximately 5 km north of the Saurimo city, is expected to have a capacity of around 25,000 spectators.
The property is being developed over an area of approximately 29,000 square meters, spanning five levels, and is included in the State Budget for the 2025 financial year.
It will have a pitch class 4 category, in line with the recommendations of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
