Africa-Press – Angola. The Minha Horta Minha Planta agricultural project, which is being implemented in the municipality of Andulo, Bié province, is transforming the lives of hundreds of farming families in the region.In Andulo, the project created five farms in the localities of Epandi, Chimbuio and Yandelela, involving nearly 850 farming families, whose results have already begun to yield satisfactory results.
The municipal director of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries, Paulo Chissonde, said that the program was created with the aim of reducing hunger, poverty and vulnerability in local communities. The project is also being implemented in the municipalities of Cuito, Cunhinga, Catabola, Camacupa, Cuemba, Chitembo, Chinguar and Andulo, the latter where agricultural production is contributing to the well-being of families.
The press found a small area of half a hectare where crops of corn, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, lettuce, cabbage, cabbage, eggplant and onions are being grown. The community gardens that are being implemented in some areas of the province of Bié are models of field schools.
