Pope Francis’ 12 years of leadership of the Catholic Church left an indelible example of courage, humility, consideration, dedication to others and fraternal solidarity among peoples, said yesterday the president of the National Assembly (AN), Carolina Cerqueira.Speaking to the press after signing the book of condolences in memory of the Supreme Pontiff, opened at the Apostolic Nunciature in Luanda, Carolina Cerqueira said that Francis was a universal figure who left lessons for all of humanity.
“On behalf of the Angolan people, as legislators and representatives of Catholic and non-Catholic believers, we would like to express our consternation and our pain at the loss of such a sublime figure,” emphasized the president of the National Assembly.
With the lessons of Francis, Carolina Cerqueira emphasized, remains the sense of mission in fulfilling the duty of building a prosperous, united Angola, where each of its children can think of a future of stability, peace and, above all, solidarity.
