Africa-Press – Angola. Angola’s participation in the G20 meeting, as part of its rotating presidency of the African Union (AU), was discussed on Thursday in Luanda. The topic was discussed at a meeting between the head of Angolan diplomacy, Téte António, and an AU delegation led by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy and Sustainable Environment and Acting Commissioner for Economic Development, Trade, Tourism, Industry and Mining, Moses Vilakati.
In a press release, MIREX said that the AU delegation sought to present the main guidelines and concerns of the continental organization to the head of Angolan diplomacy, with a view to coordinating and harmonizing African positions within the G20.
The visit of this African Union delegation to Angola also aims to hold meetings with several Angolan authorities, including a meeting with José de Lima Massano, Minister of State for Economic Coordination, who heads Angola’s Technical Commission at the G20.
“These consultations aim to strengthen internal institutional coordination, ensure cohesive and effective participation by Angola and the African Union in the G20 sessions, and ensure that the interests of the African continent are adequately projected in this global forum,” the note reads.
