Africa-Press – Angola. On Tuesday, Angolan artist Kiluanji Kia Henda received the inaugural “Creativity for Social Change” award in Milan, Italy, from the Moleskine Foundation and The Democracy and Culture Foundation. In a post on social media today, the artist wrote that he received the award in the year he celebrates 20 years of his career in “this crazy and passionate artistic life”.
“What moves me most about this recognition is the fact that it also values the collective projects I have been part of over the last decade, such as Fuckin’ Globo and KinoYetu”, he added in the publication consulted by Jornal de Angola Online. For Kiluanji Kia Henda, this achievement extends to all the artists with whom he has had the privilege of collaborating, and to the Kaluanda creative community, which has always welcomed him with open arms and hearts.
“This true family gave meaning to my journey with much love, affection, sharing and knowledge throughout these years. I receive this award with gratitude, as a sign that we are on the right path, creating, resisting and transforming together”, concluded the artist.
