Africa-Press – Angola. The Marketing Coordinator of the Angolan Central Private Credit Information Bureau (CPIC), Carla Paiva, assured, on Tuesday, in Luanda, that the country is taking significant steps towards greater financial inclusion and responsible access to credit, thanks to the coordinated action between entities such as the CPIC and the Credit Risk Information Centre (CIRC).
Carla Paiva was speaking during a training session for economic journalists, in which she recalled that the Angolan Bureau is the first CPIC in the country, whose mission is to compile and organise information from companies in the financial sector.
According to the person in charge, the provision of this service aims to create a solid database on the consumption behaviour and compliance with credit obligations by Angolan citizens.
“Our purpose is to provide useful data for those who grant credit. And credit is not just money. It is everything we consume today and pay for later”, she highlighted.
The official also stressed that the institution works in a complementary manner to the CIRC, both being essential for the solidity of the national financial system.
While the CIRC aggregates data from banking institutions, she highlighted, the CPIC gathers information from the entire financial ecosystem.
