Africa-Press – Angola. Sporting de Luanda assessed the skills of RSD Guelson when they face off at 4pm at the 22 de Junho Stadium in the opening match of the 11th round of the Qualifying Zone for the First Division National Football Championship. After having rested in the previous round due to calendar constraints, the Lions of the capital have the mission of stopping the victorious march of the Kilamba Kiaxi team. However, the task seems difficult for coach Patrício Correia and his players.
The hosts are aware of the difficulties they will face against a motivated opponent, after a 5-0 thrashing of Kincoxi. This is why Patrício Correia must redouble his efforts in defense and avoid the away team’s celebrations.
Occupying fifth place after eight games, Sporting de Luanda has won three, drawn two and lost three, with 11 points in the league table. Mathematically, things are not yet out of the question for the Lions, who are waiting for a slip-up from their opponents to close in and dream of qualifying. On the other side, Guelson remains galvanized in the conquest of the three points at stake. In case of victory, the team led by Paulo Dias reaches the same points as Redonda (19), who are resting in the round.
With four rounds to go, the Kilamba Kiaxi team has the task of winning all the matches and guaranteeing the unprecedented qualification to the National Football Championship of the First Division.
Guelson is considered a certain favoritism, considering the position it occupies and the good sporting moment. However, coach Paulo Dias must prepare a combative team, capable of nullifying the offensive transitions, in order to avoid being devoured by the lions at the 22 de Junho Stadium.
Judging by the ambitions of the two teams, a close duel is expected from the first to the last minute.
