Africa-Press – Angola. Over 500 marketing and technology professionals from across Africa are expected to converge in Accra, Ghana, for the 4th Annual African Marketing Confederation (AMC) Conference, scheduled for August 20–22, 2025, at the Labadi Beach Hotel.
The three-day joint conference, held under the theme “Thriving in Africa’s Evolving Markets: Trust, Trends, and Technology”, is a collaborative initiative between the African Marketing Confederation (AMC) and the Technology Information Confederation Africa (TICON Africa).
It aims to explore the synergy between marketing and information technology in driving sustainable business growth and competitiveness across the continent.
The conference launch, held on May 15, 2025, at the same venue, was attended by dignitaries, partners, and online participants from around the world.
Organisers say the gathering will bring together delegates from over 35 countries, including Uganda, with representatives from the Uganda Marketers Society and the ICT Association of Uganda confirmed to attend.
Speaking at the launch, David Gowu, President of TICON Africa and Executive Director of the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana, emphasised the role of cross-sector collaboration in Africa’s development.
“This is more than a conference; it’s a platform for merging technological innovation with strategic marketing to unlock Africa’s full potential,” Gowu said.
Ama Amoah, Vice President of the Chartered Institute of Marketing Ghana (CIMG), the host marketing body for the event, described the conference as “a movement ignited in Accra.”
She added, “Accra will become the meeting point for Africa’s biggest marketing minds and boldest tech innovators.”
The African Marketing Confederation Secretary General, David Balikuddembe, highlighted the dual focus of the event on thought leadership and cultural experience.
“Our conferences are not just about lectures and panels. We ensure participants experience the host country’s culture, cuisine, and people. This year, we are proud to partner with the Ghana Tourism Authority,” he said.
Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, Deputy CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, expressed optimism that the conference would support Ghana’s tourism ambitions.
“This is a golden opportunity to project Ghana as Africa’s number one tourism destination,” he said.
The 2025 edition is jointly hosted by CIMG and the Institute of ICT Professionals Ghana, with the goal of accelerating digital transformation, empowering African youth, and strengthening business ecosystems across the continent.
