Africa-Press – Angola. An Angolan delegation, led by Health Minister Silvia Lutucuta, is attending the Ordinary Meeting of the World Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization (GAV) from 22 to 24 this month in Geneva (Switzerland).

According to a press release of the Angola Permanent Mission to the United Nations Office and other international organizations in Geneva, the meeting serves to define GAVI’s new strategy for the 2025 to 2030, called GAVI 6.0.

Angola, as Gavi’s partner country, has the opportunity to contribute to the definition of this strategy, ensuring that the country’s needs and priorities are considered.

The meeting will serve to define the key elements of Gavi’s new strategy, so it is important for Angola to attend the event.

Gavi is a multilateral organism that manages vaccines globally. His partnership with Angola began in 2002.

Angola’s participation does not only allow the country to contribute to the definition of the strategy, but also ensures that its needs and priorities regarding immunization are considered.

It is recalled that the President of the Republic, João Lourenço, recently participated in the world summit ‘health and prosperity thanks to immunization ”, co-organized by the European Union, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Gavi, in partnership with Global Citizen.

This event brought together representatives from 55 countries and organizations, on June 25, in Brussels, Belgium.
