Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan national team face Lithuania on Thursday, in the second round of the quadrangular tournament with the aim of taking the lead in the “Angola 50 Years” International Senior Women’s Handball Tournament, which takes place at the Kilamba Multipurpose Pavilion, in Luanda.
The national team, also known as the “Pearls”, have two points after beating 25-21 Congo Brazzaville on Wednesday in their debut match.
Portugal, also with two points, lead the tournament based on the number of goals scored. The European team beat Lithuania in the opening round by 37 to 23.
It should be noted that if Angola win and Portugal achieve the same result, regardless of which team lead the tournament, the title will be decided in the final knockout round between the two competitors. The match is scheduled for Saturday.
