Africa-Press – Angola. The organizing committee of the 4th African Youth Games (AYG) informed on Wednesday (10) that the kick off will only take place in the afternoon, with the table tennis competition, starting at 2 pm, at the Cidadela SportCenter Complex, in Luanda,
The “kick-off” of the multidisciplinary event was scheduled for the morning, with athletics, at the José Sayovo High Performance Center, in the province of Bengo.
According to the organizers, the first day will feature only table tennis, with the remaining 20 sports starting on Thursday (11), and the opening ceremony still scheduled for next Saturday, the 13th.
Taking place under the motto “Youth in motion, Africa united”, simultaneously in the provinces of Luanda and Bengo, the continental competition brings together a total of 2,025 athletes and more than 600 technical officials, including coaches, heads of delegation, masseurs and timekeepers, representing 54 countries, and aims to stimulate the spirit of fraternity and African unity.
