Angola Takes Part in Peace and Security Summit in Dakar

Africa-Press – Angola. Angola is participating in the 10th International Summit on Peace and Security in Africa, which began on Monday in Dakar, Senegal.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Angolan Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Esmeralda Mendonça, arrived Monday in the city where the event is taking place to represent the country.

The summit’s theme is “Africa facing the challenges of stability, integration and sovereignty: what lasting solutions?”.

It brings together policymakers, representatives from the defense and security sector, as well as representatives from international organizations and civil society.

The meeting aims to promote a reflection and sharing of solutions for the challenges of global security, with special emphasis on the African continent.

During the two-day summit, the participants will discuss topics linked to the strengthening of peace, security and stability, with particular emphasis towards economic growth and regional integration.

The program includes plenary sessions, workshops and side events in order to deepen the debate on the main challenges that the continent currently faces.

Angola’s participation in the event reinforces the strategic role of the country in promoting regional stability, as well as mediation and prevention of conflicts in the continent.
