Africa-Press – Angola. The 1o de Agosto senior women’s handball team qualified, this Thursday, in the Algerian city of Oran, for the final of the African Cup Winners’ Cup, by defeating As Otoho from Congo, by an impressive 31 -11.
At half-time of the semi-final game, played in Algeria, the Angolan team (holders of the continental trophy) already held a massive 17-5 lead, with no reply from their opponents.
To reach the semi-finals, the “military” team beat, on Tuesday, the Algerian team of Boumerdes, by 33 -22.
In the final, Saturday, in Oran (Algeria), against the other representative from Angola, Petro de Luanda, 1o de Agosto will be looking for their tenth title. In the other semi-final, Petro beat Al Alhy from Egypt, 24-19.
