Africa-Press – Angola. The president of UNITA, Adalberto Costa Júnior, praised Thursday, in Cachiungo municipality, Huambo province, the openness and availability for dialogue of government authorities and civil society in this region.

The party member, who was speaking to the press, at the end of a visit to the municipality of Cachiungo, in continuation of the five-day work agenda in the Central Plateau, said he was well received by the governor of Huambo, Lotti Nolika, a gesture that was extended to the municipal administrators.

For the politician, this interaction between the government, political parties and social organizations is a fundamental factor in the context of the challenges of consolidating peace, national reconciliation and strengthening the principles of a democratic State and the rule of law.

“This act conveys a very important message in the Angola we have, which still needs more education for plurality, democracy and reinforcement of peaceful coexistence in difference”, he underlined.

Adalberto Costa Júnior reaffirmed UNITA’s commitment to continue promoting an open and constructive dialogue with institutions and organizations, with a view to seeking solutions for the country’s development.

In the municipality of Cachiungo, western corridor of Huambo province, the supporter organized a political act, in addition to meeting with members of local civil society and visiting the Dondi Mission, where he highlighted the role played by the Evangelical Church Congregational in Angola (IECA) in the process of training staff.

He said that the visit to Huambo served to verify and register the numerous concerns of the militants and the local civil society, to later produce a report that should be sent to the government institutions, in order to be resolved.

In Huambo since Monday, the UNITA leader held a meeting with governor Lotti Nolika and, later, met separately with representatives of the Catholic, Evangelical Congregational in Angola (IECA) and Seventh-day Adventist churches.

In the following days, he traveled to the municipalities of Bailundo, Caála, Chinjenje and Ucuma, where he held meetings with local authorities and members of civil society, in addition to political events.
