Africa-Press – Angola. The National Men’s Senior Basketball Team defeated Libya (85-53) on Tuesday (12) in the first round of Group C, played at the Kilamba pavilion, in Luanda.

At halftime, the hosts were already leading 38-24, in a match that featured the President of the Republic of Angola, João Lourenço, and the First Lady, Ana Dias Lourenço.

Childe Dundão and Kevin Kokila, with 12 points each, were Angola’s top scorers and for Libya, Naseim Badrush stood out with 16 converted shots.

Angola’s Kevin Kokila was named the match’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).

After the positive kick off, the 11 times African champions are to travel to the province of Namibe, the venue for Series C, which also features South Sudan, Libya and Guinea, the latter being their opponent in the 2nd round on the 14th, at the Welwitshia Mirabilis pavilion, in the city of Moçâmedes.
