Africa-Press – Angola. Technical issues related to the structure of the Acácias Rubras Pavilion (Benguela) forced the transfer of the “AFROCAN” African Basketball Championship, scheduled for the period from 8 to 16 July, to Luanda.

The information was given this Monday by the vice-president of the Angolan Basketball Federation, Sílvio Lemos, who mentioned the poor condition of the floor, the timer and the low capacity of the venue.

He indicated that the change will not disturb the organizational strategic system, but increases the possibility of providing greater comfort to athletes and spectators.

The Angolan team is made up of Emanuel Sebastião, Francisco Gomes, Miguel Maconda, Jose Nseka (bases), Tarcio Domingos, Kenneth Manuel and Ângelo Alexandre (wingers/bases).

The group is completed by Glofate Buiamba, Geovani Kibinga, Bamba Cissé, Kenny Biango, Ednilson Andrade, Domingos Kissingue, Josué Bartolomeu and Marcelo João (Extremes), Kevin Albino, Wilson Kassav, Macachi Brás, Aloisio Andrade and Walter Luzolo (Extremes/poles).

In the first edition in 2019, held in Egypt, Angola ranked third, under the guidance of the national coach, Paulo Macedo.
