Africa-Press – Angola. The municipal administration of Talatona delivered, this Thursday, in the urban district of Benfica, in Luanda, agricultural and fishing instruments to local Cooperatives and Associations, within the scope of the Integrated Program for Local Development and Combating Poverty (PIDLCP).

Among the goods delivered to residents are engines for small fishing boats, fishing nets and rescue buoys, glaciers, fertilizers, agricultural seeds for farmers and food for vulnerable families.

The Deputy Municipal Administrator for the Social Sector, Claudineth Cerqueira, said, at the time, that the material delivered should serve to create more jobs and increase the production of the beneficiaries.

According to the public manager, the gesture marks another step by municipal authorities in encouraging agriculture and fishing.

“We therefore want cooperatives and associations to start producing more and moving towards self-sufficiency in Talatona and the Provincial of Luanda in general”, he said.

Parallel to the donation program, the Agricultural and Fishing fair was held, which was attended by the Union of Artisanal Fishing Cooperatives of Talatona, WEZA YETU, Buraco Fishermen’s Cooperative (Mussulo) and Peasant Associations and others.
