Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of State and Economic Coordination, José de Lima Massano, on Saturday in Luena, Moxico Province, challenged agricultural machinery, equipment and input companies to invest in the eastern region of Angola, which has “specific agricultural potential”.

In brief statements to the press after visiting the Moxico Agricultural Fair on his last day of work, he said that the agricultural production in the province justifies the presence of private investors who facilitate the acquisition of agricultural machinery, equipment, and inputs.

The Moxico Agricultural Fair was held on the occasion of the central official opening ceremony of the 2025/26 Agricultural Year, which the province hosted on Friday in the municipality of Camanongue.

“We saw considerable assets here in Moxico to be exhibited. We need the permanent presence of this equipment to facilitate access”, he said, appealing to all those involved in the production sector to commit to promoting agriculture.

The minister reiterated that the government will continue working to create conditions for domestic agricultural production to achieve self-sufficiency in food and nutrition.

With 9,000 agricultural technician schools under control in Angola, José de Lima de Massano believes that producers will have acceptable technical assistance while also seeking to streamline land concessions.

According to the Minister of State, another challenge that the government intends to address is the opening and accessibility of bank credit to support agricultural activity, especially cooperatives, associations and small producers.

The government official spent 48 hours in Moxico, a visit that served to preside over the official opening of the 2025/26 Agricultural Year. The mentioned ceremony was held in the municipality of Camanongue, 52 kilometers north of Luena, the capital city of the province of Moxico.
