Africa-Press – Angola. The General Tax Administration (AGT) clarifies that the registration of each unit or commercial establishment, constituting the same taxpayer, is imperative to ensure the correct functioning of electronic invoicing and full compliance with current tax obligations.
The clarification, made through a statement, follows the entry into force of mandatory electronic invoicing for large taxpayers and suppliers to the State, on January 1, 2026, having identified that some taxpayers with multiple commercial establishments are not yet properly registered in the system.
In the document, AGT highlights that the implementation of this new regime makes registration essential to avoid technical constraints that could compromise the regular issuance of tax documents.
Accordingly, the institution advises taxpayers to access the practical guide (step-by-step) for regularizing the registration of establishments, with a view to preventing operational difficulties in the invoicing process.
For more information, users are advised to contact the Taxpayer Support Center (CAC), via email: [email protected].
Electronic invoicing is the process of issuing, processing, sending and receiving invoices in a digital format instead of using printed format.
Invoices are issued and received using validated electronic invoicing software, and can be transmitted in real time to the General Tax Administration (AGT).
According to Presidential Decree No. 71/25 – Legal Regime of Invoices, taxpayers covered by the General and Simplified VAT Regime are obliged to electronic invoicing, while for other taxpayers, adherence to the same is voluntary and done by sending a request to the AGT.
From January 1, 2027, the measure will cover all taxpayers covered by the General and Simplified VAT Regimes.
