Africa-Press – Angola. The participation of the Angolan company AJS Transport and Logistics, in the most recent edition of Mining Indaba, resulted in the signing of new agreements in the areas of transport and logistics, which is considered a very positive balance sheet.
In statements to Angolan journalists, in order to take stock of his participation, the Director-General, Luís Silva, said that the event was strategic for the company’s regional expansion in the mining sector.
He stressed that the presence of AJS in Mining Indaba, an event in which his firm has been participating in the past eight years, is a privileged forum for presenting the company’s services, bringing partners closer together and strengthening its exposure on the African market.
He informed that the company has been active for more than 15 years in the mining sector, following a trajectory that included the provision of services to the United Nations (UN), notably the World Food Programme (WFP), and participation in structural projects such as Capanda Dam. The company AJS subsequently consolidated its activities with mining companies, including the Catoca Mining Society.
Currently, AJS has more than 450 direct workers and generates more than a thousand indirect jobs. The fleet consists of more than 350 trucks, and an investment is underway to strengthen them.
In addition to Angola, AJS maintains operations in Namibia, where it has its own resources, and develops logistics in South Africa, providing services to the mining sector.
During this year’s edition of the Mining Indaba, the company that has existed for 34 years, signed agreements with companies in the diamond subsector and with an operator linked to the extraction of ornamental rocks. The management expressed his happiness with the results achieved and ensured that it was committed to the rapid implementation of established understandings, strengthening its position as a regional reference operator in the transport and logistics sector.
