Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan Evangelical Alliance (IEA) plans to build a reference hospital and a higher institute in the province of Cabinda, its general secretary, Alexandre Saúl, said this Thursday.

When speaking at a meeting with the vice-governor of Cabinda for the technical sector and infrastructures, Agostinho da Silva, the religious, without advancing the date for the start of works, said that the construction of these social infrastructures is in the first phase implementation of the IEA program in the region.

According to the person in charge, who is carrying out a pastoral visit for a few days in the region, the higher institute will offer courses in theology and human sciences.

He assured that the Evangelical Alliance of Angola also intends to invest in the implementation of economic initiatives in the areas of agriculture, livestock, fisheries, among others.

For this reason, he requested institutional support from the Government of Cabinda in providing space for the implementation of these programs, both at the headquarters of the province and in other municipalities.

He said that the works will be financed with funds from the 15 churches that make up the Angola Evangelical Alliance.

“We are talking about sustainability projects, which will be carried out with revenue from tuition fees and other church services”, he explained.

In turn, the vice-governor of Cabinda guaranteed institutional support from the local government to carry out these projects.

During his stay in Cabinda, Alexandre Saúl will, among other activities, witness on Sunday the holding of the assembly to renew the mandates of the religious congregation in the region.
