Africa-Press – Angola. Ambassador Rui Orlando Xavier handed over on Wednesday to the President of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, the Credential Letters that enable him to perform these functions in that country.The event served to strengthen bilateral relations between Angola and Madagascar, marked by strong cooperation since the proclamation of National Independence in 1975.

Ambassador Rui Xavier took the opportunity to invite Malagasy businesspeople to explore business opportunities in Angola, a challenge supported by President Andry Rajoelina.

Rui Orlando Xavier is also the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of Angola to South Africa and is a non-resident in Lesotho, and now in Madagascar.

It should be recalled that relations between Angola and Madagascar were marked at the highest level in August of this year, with the signing of seven cooperation agreements in various areas, including Oil, Mining and Energy.

The signing of the legal instruments was witnessed by the Presidents of the Republic, João Lourenço, and of Madagascar, Andry Rajoelina, on a three-day state visit to Angola.

The two countries signed the General Cooperation Agreement and the Creation of the Bilateral Commission, with the Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, and the Malagasy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rasata Rafaravavitafika, as signatories.
