Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to South Africa, Rui Orlando Xavier, reaffirmed, on Friday, in Cape Town, the Angolan Executive’s commitment to improving the living conditions of national citizens in the country and abroad.
The diplomat was speaking at the Consulate General of Angola in Cape Town, at the ceremony that marked the celebrations of the 48th anniversary of national independence, putting an end to the commemorative day that began with a similar event at the Consulate General of Angola in Johannesburg on the 11th.
On the occasion, Rui Xavier recalled Angola’s challenges in asserting itself in the concert of nations and urged consulates to work increasingly to resolve the main concerns of citizens abroad, at the same time as he appealed to young people who have completed training at return to the country and make their contribution to the tasks of national reconstruction.
He also called on citizens to regularize their document situation with the consulates and these, in turn, assist them in their legalization and integration into South African society.
For her part, the Consul General of Angola in Cape Town, Elsa Caposso Vicente, called on South African businesspeople to invest in Angola, taking advantage of the new business environment created by the Executive, with a view to materializing the common objectives of the two states.
During the event, which ended with a celebration dinner, honorable mentions were given to ambassador Rui Xavier and the consul general of Angola in Johannesburg, Irene Brígida dos Santos.
