Africa-Press – Angola. The National Youth MMA Team said goodbye this Saturday, in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates (UAE), to the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Angola to that country, Júlio Maiato, after competing in the World Championship.
In the world competition, which took place in that Arab country, from the 2nd to the 5th of August, Angola obtained a bronze medal through the athlete Stélvia Muhanha, aged 13.
Speaking at the national team’s farewell ceremony, according to a press release from the Angolan Embassy in the UAE, the diplomat said that, despite the athletes not having won the gold medal, they knew how to represent the country with dignity .
He stated that the flag of Angola should always be present in international events for the good image of sport and the Nation.
In this world cup, the Angolan delegation, headed by international master Jair Yoba, was made up of 15 elements, of which 11 were athletes.
