The President of the National Assembly, Carolina Cerqueira, leads the Angolan delegation to participate in the 13th Ordinary Session of the Plenary Assembly of the Parliamentary Forum of the International Conference of the Great Lakes Region (CIRGL), which runs until the 1st of April, in Juba , capital of South Sudan.
The works of the 13th Ordinary Session of the Plenary Assembly of the Parliamentary Forum of the CIRGL began on Monday, 27th, with the election of the members of the Commissions.
Angolan deputy Agostinho Van-Dúnem was reappointed (elected) as a member of the Peace and Security Commission.
Member of the National Assembly, where he is serving his second term, Agostinho Van-Dúnem is vice-president of the Commission on Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Angolan Communities Abroad.
The Parliamentary Forum of the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region is an inter-parliamentary organization that brings together national parliaments from the 12 member states of the ICGLR, namely Angola, Burundi, Central African Republic (CAR), Congo, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Rwanda, South Sudan, Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.
