Africa-Press – Angola. The Angolan ambassador to the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Miguel da Costa, met Friday, in Kinshasa, with his Algerian counterpart, Mohamed Yazid Bouzid, having analyzed the state of friendship relations and cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting, held at the request of the new ambassador of Algeria in the DRC, also served to address current issues in the DRC, particularly linked to security in the east of that country, says a note from the Embassy of Angola in the DRC.

At the beginning of his functions, continues the document, Moamed Yazid Bouzid placed Angola as a priority, among the countries accredited in the DRC, given the historical relations between the two States.

The friendly relations between Angola and Algeria exist since before the independence of the Angolan State.

In the post-independence period, support from Algeria was crucial for the training of the first Angolan staff, particularly in the oil sector.
