Africa-Press – Angola. Authorities from the republics of Angola and Congo will meet starting this Wednesday, in the Angolan province of Cabinda, to analyze issues linked to security at the common border, including illegal immigration and fuel smuggling.
At the meeting of the Angola/Congo Joint Commission, representatives of the two countries will also analyze political-military issues and on border management, according to a statement from the Angolan Interior Ministry.
Running until Saturday, the meeting will be preceded, in the first two days, by the meeting of experts who will assess the degree of implementation of the recommendations issued at the last ministerial meeting that took place in Ponta-Negra (Congo), in May 2022.
For the meeting of experts, different subcommittees were created. Also within the framework of the meeting, specialists from both countries should carry out verification visits to the commune of Massabi (Angola), on the sea, river and land border.
