Africa-Press – Angola. The heads of diplomacy of Angola and Mozambique discussed several relevant issues this Tuesday, in Maputo, with a view to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
According to a press release, the two ministers Téte António (Angola) and Verónica Dlhovo (Mozambique) exchanged views on relevant national, regional and continental issues.
The meeting, held on the sidelines of the X Session of the Bilateral Commission between Angola and Mozambique, also served the two entities to assess the degree of cooperation existing between the two countries.
Angola’s role in the Peace and Security Council, in the 2024-2025 Biennium, the presidency of the African Union, in 2025, and the Angolan vote in favor of Mozambique in the elections for non-permanent member of the Council of the United Nations Security were also topics covered.
According to the note, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Mozambique praised Angola’s role in resolving conflicts, especially in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Verónica Dlhovo said that the conflicts in Sudan and the DRC and the intensification of terrorism in several African countries create a climate of destabilization and insecurity on the African continent.
