Africa-Press – Angola. An Angolan delegation led by the governor of the National Bank of Angola, José de Lima Massano, has been working since Wednesday in Windhoek, the Namibian capital, at the invitation of the governor of the Central Bank of Namibia.

According to a press release sent, the visit will take place from 29 June to 1 July and will allow for exchanges between the two financial institutions.

The delegation, which includes members of the Executive Committee of the National Bank of Angola, was received by the Angolan ambassador to Namibia, Jovelina Imperial.

In an interview, in June, José de Lima Massano announced that the two central banks could resume negotiations and fine-tune cooperation mechanisms in relation to the currency conversion agreement.

This is an agreement, the statement said, which could facilitate the use by citizens of two countries of the Kwanza and the Namibian Dollar in both markets.

“Taking into account the trade relations between Angola and Namibia, the BNA and the Central Bank of Namibia intend to review these cooperation mechanisms so that the agreement can be resumed later this year 2022”, reads the statement.
