Africa-Press – Angola. Angola and Poland held bilateral political consultations in Warsaw on September 16 and 17, aiming to strengthen cooperation in various areas.
According to a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent this Saturday, the Angolan delegation was led by the Secretary of State for International Cooperation and Angolan Communities, Domingos Vieira Lopes, and included the Angolan ambassador to Poland, Manuel Pedro Chaves, as well as senior officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MIREX).On the Polish side, the consultations were attended by Deputy Minister Wojciech Zajączkowski, as well as directors and heads of strategic departments related to Africa, communications, economics, and global affairs.
During the visit, Domingos Vieira Lopes held a courtesy meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, to whom he delivered a message from his Angolan counterpart, Minister Tête António, who emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations.
The Angolan delegation also held meetings with the Polish Ministries of Development and Technology and Digital Affairs, recognized for their role in modernizing and streamlining equipment, and visited the Pronar company, which specializes in the production of steel, agricultural machinery, and transportation.
The consultations also included a business roundtable organized by the banks PKO and BGK, the insurance company KUKE, and the Polish Chamber of Investment and Commerce (PAIH). Several Polish companies from strategic sectors, such as ORLEN, GRUPA PBI, CHEMIROL, and BOGDANKA, participated. On the Angolan side, national companies such as SANEP, Grupo Boavida, and Dolinveste were present, as well as representatives of public institutions, including AIPEX, the Special Economic Zone, Ensa-Seguros, and the Ministries of Agriculture, Commerce, and Health.
The mission concluded with a meeting with the Angolan community residing in Poland, where the importance of maintaining ties with the homeland and contributing to national development through ideas and projects was emphasized.
The next political consultations are scheduled to take place in Luanda, reinforcing the commitment to consolidating cooperation between the two countries.
