The proposal, made during a meeting between the Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falcão, and the Venezuelan ambassador accredited to the country, Belén Teresa Orsini Pic, at MINJUD headquarters, falls under the scope of higher education in physical education and sports.
The package also includes higher education in human motor skills, including the sharing of experiences in sports in which Angola dominates, with an emphasis on wrestling, canoeing, sailing, and handball.
According to the Sec. of State for Sports, Paulo Madeira, who spoke to the press, the meeting served to share what Venezuela has done, in collaboration with the Angolan Govt, in supporting sports, training professionals in the sector, and training youth.
He reported that, in response to Venezuela’s actions, Minister Rui Falcão launched a challenge to share areas in which Angola excels, namely sports and youth, for exchanges between the two countries.
Without specifying a kick off date, he added that, in this regard, the teams will work to identify focal areas, holding Zoom meetings to ensure the exchange is successful.
For her part, Venezuelan Ambassador Belém Teresa Orsini Pic considered it a moment of great pride that her country is participating in the celebrations of Angola’s 50th anniversary of independence, with this act of educational cooperation, which already includes 8 Angolan students.
She explained that during the hearing, a proposal was made to expand the ties, mainly during this period of celebrations in the country, which was achieved on Nov 11, 1975.
According to the diplomat, her government believes in Angolan youth’s potential, and this educational tribute will increase their skills in the implementation of public and sports policies.
