Africa-Press – Angola. Angola participates in the meeting on the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI), taking place until Friday (02), in Marrakesh, Kingdom of Morocco, within the framework of strengthening multilateral cooperation.

Started on Tuesday, the event is a North American initiative, launched in 2003, and its main objective is to promote global efforts to combat the proliferation and illicit trafficking of weapons of mass destruction, according to a note from the Ministry of Relations (MIREX).

The multisectoral delegation to the event is led by the Secretary of State for international cooperation and Angolan communities, Domingos Viera Lopes, and includes the Angolan ambassador to the Kingdom of Morocco, Baltazar Diogo Cristóvão, the deputy director general of the External Intelligence Services, Teresa da Silva, and staff from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and National Defense and Veterans of the Fatherland.

The Republic of Angola endorsed the PSI Principles, which currently brings together 106 countries, of which six (6) are African.
