Africa-Press – Angola. Angola will host, from the 16th to the 19th of May this year, the 8th Edition of the African Oil Congress and Exhibition (CAPE VIII), with the aim of promoting and supporting investment in the national oil sector.
The forum, an initiative of the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO), also aims to reflect on the guidelines given by the top African political leaders responsible for this sector, a source at the organization told AN-GOP this week.
Under the motto “Challenges and Opportunities in the African Energy, Oil and Gas Industry”, the Congress has several speakers, with emphasis on the Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas of Angola, Diamantino Azevedo, who is currently the president of APPO , in this year 2022, whose support, in the promotion, has the seal of MIREMPET and the company AMTRADE.
National, regional and international experts from the Energy, Oil and Gas Industry are expected to attend the event, who will discuss the challenges and opportunities of the energy transition and the future of the Oil and Gas Industry in Africa.
Topics such as the Impact of COP-26 and the Energy Transition on the Future of the Oil and Gas Industry in Africa, the Development of African Local Content, Upstream (exploration and production), Downstream (refining, transport and distribution) and Adding Value through Local Content.
Successful partnerships in Africa’s oil and gas sector: perspectives from major industry players (NOCs) in cross-border infrastructure, the development of the African oil market, opportunities for petrochemical refinement and processing and oil sector financing are other topics scheduled for this event.
The Africa Petroleum Congress and Exhibition (CAPE) is reputed to be the largest and most influential oil and gas event in Africa, which seeks to provide investors with the opportunity to gain more in-depth information and knowledge about the strategic direction of that industry on the continent. .

The previous edition was organized in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2016, having attracted 47 high-profile speakers from five continents, 470 participants from 37 countries, 55 exhibitors and 13 sponsors.
