Africa-Press – Angola. The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Téte António, said Friday (11), in Luanda, that Angola has mobilized the world to attract direct investment, within the framework of economic diplomacy, whose action remains among the priorities on the Executive’s agenda.

Téte António, who was speaking at the launch of the first edition of “CaféCIPRA” (dialogue with government officials), which yesterday addressed the topic “Economic Diplomacy – Balance and Prospects”, said that several measures were taken internally to improve the working environment. business in the country.

The head of Angolan diplomacy also highlighted that several administrative reforms were carried out, regarding visa facilitation, and judicial agreements were signed, in the scope of the repatriation of assets that left the country illegally.

The consulates, he said, register a drastic drop in terms of fees for applying for visas, by foreign businessmen who intend to visit the country.

“The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, as diplomat number one, made several State visits and vice versa, with a view to attracting foreign investment, whose results are visible”, he said.

Téte António also pointed out the partnerships in which Angola participated, included in the agenda of the African continent, namely the China-Africa, Turkey-Africa, Korea-Africa, European Union-Africa business forums, among others, through which the country “sold its image to investors external”.

In relation to attracting investments at the level of bordering countries, the minister informed that the diplomatic action carried out by the responsible ministerial department, contributed to this challenge, where economic diplomacy has been one of the points of reference on the agenda.

“Often, we think of making money very far away, when we have markets nearby, as is the case of Central Africa, which has at least 250 million consumers”, he said.

During his approach, Tété António recalled the meeting he had with the ministerial department for Industry and Commerce, which analyzed the process of economic integration in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and in the African Continental Free Trade Area (AFTA), changing habits at the level of Embassies and consular missions, so that they can contribute to these important economic challenges facing the country.

According to the minister, the parties also analyzed the Strategic Partnership Agreement between SADC and the European Union, as well as addressed issues related to the evaluation of the process of creating the National Commission for Trade Negotiations and the Graduation Process from Angola to the country. of Middle Income, as well as the issue of commercial diplomacy, with a focus on the Statute of the Commercial Attaché.

The meeting also brought together the ministers of Economy and Planning, Mário João, Industry and Commerce, Victor Fernandes, and the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Private Investment and Export Promotion Agency (AIPEX), António da Silva.
